Credit
Firms may apply for credit by submitting names of three Trade References that now extend credit. If this is inconvenient and you wish to expedite your order, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover.
Payment Terms
Upon credit approval, NET 30 DAYS.
Occasionally, we will have to change a price without notice due to circumstances beyond our control.
Authorization Holds
Like many other merchants, House of Cans, Inc. places an authorization hold on your payment card account for the approximate amount of your order total.
You might see authorization requests on your online statement. These requests aren't actual charges. They are tests to confirm that your payment card account is active and has the funds available to complete your transactions. Authorization holds are removed by your financial institution shortly after your purchase clears. The time it takes to remove authorization requests varies by financial institution.
The actual amount that is charged is determined at time of shipment—this is when your card will be charged.

Shipping
F.O.B. our Lincolnwood, IL (Chicago) Warehouse. There is a pallet fee of $15.00 per pallet for all LTL orders.
Orders will ship 'prepay and add' F.O. B. shipping point. If there is a preferred carrier, please note this in the 'comment' area of the order. Claims for loss or damage in transit should be made immediately (within 30 days) and noted on the bill of lading. UPS will be used whenever possible and a small handling charge will be added to the invoice.
Unless you specify otherwise, we will ship your order in the most efficient way possible. Packages up to 150 pounds are shipped via UPS Ground, with charges prepaid and added to your invoice. Larger or bulky shipments are shipped via common carrier; freight charges pre-paid and add unless a freight collect account is provided.
Once an order has shipped, you will receive the tracking information. When an order leaves our warehouse it is your responsibility to track your shipment and plan for delivery. We recommend signing up for UPS My Choice, a free service that provides up-to-date delivery alerts.
If an order is returned to our facility due to an incorrect address supplied to House of Cans or an issue of non-delivery (i.e.three failed delivery attempts), you will be charged for return fees.
In the event that an incorrect or incomplete address is submitted for an order, customers will be charged any redelivery and/or address correction fees.
Orders that are returned to us as undeliverable are not able to be re-shipped.
International orders (including orders to Canada and Mexico) are subject to customs; any fees or taxes are collected at the border by the UPS or arranged by your customs broker.
Any collect shipments that result in a chargeback will be charged published UPS rates.

Please note: it is our policy that all can sealer orders shipping to a residential address require matching billing and shipping addresses unless an order history has been established with House of Cans, Inc. Any can sealer order placed with address mismatch, will not be processed.
Damage
If the item appears to have visable damage by UPS, contact us within 48 hours of delivery.
For freight shipments, any and all shortages and damages must be written on the Bill Of Lading or Freight Bill. Should you determine that any items are damaged or missing, you MUST note the item, the discrepancy, and the condition before you sign it.
Your signature on the delivering carrier's freight Bill Of Lading (BOL) constitutes acceptance of the merchandise as is and in good order. If you do not inspect before signing you are, for all practical purposes, waiving the right to collect on a damage claim even if the damage is discovered later (known as concealed damage).
Warranty
All items are warranted by the manufacturer against failure caused solely by defective workmanship or materials. Unless otherwise stated in writing, seller makes no warranty that the containers, closures, and any other items depicted or described herein are fit for any particular purpose.
Return Policy
Returns are issued at the seller's discretion. In the event of a return, please call for a Return Merchandise Authorization (R.M.A.) number within 30 days. The return must be received within 14 days of the issued R.M.A. There will be a restocking charge of up to 25%, unless we are at fault. Goods must be returned in original cartons and in sellable condition.
All can sealers are non-returnable. No exceptions.
Cancellation Policy
Please note, order cancellations must be sumbitted in writing (emailed to sales@houseofcans.com or faxed to 847-677-2103).
An order cancellation received after the order has been pulled and prepped for shipping are subject to a 10% (minimum of $10) restocking fee. If an order is cancelled prior to the order being prepped for shipping, no fees will apply, with the exception if material was special ordered to fill the order and we are not able to cancel with the manufacturing plant or if the goods are in transit. Any order cancellations received after the order has been shipped will be subject to our Return Policy Terms and Conditions.
Sales Tax
House of Cans, Inc. does not collect sales or use tax outside of Illinois. If tax is not collected on your order, your state may require that you file a sales and use tax return at the end of the year reporting all taxable purchases that were not taxed and pay the taxes associated with those purchases. Your purchase is not exempt from state sales or use tax merely because it is made over the Internet or by telephone.
